Sometimes one swap changes everything about how a home looks from the street. That's exactly what happened here. The original door was a classic white carriage-style with black hardware accents - totally fine, but nothing that made the house stand out. What went in its place is a whole different story.
We installed a C.H.I. Overhead Doors Model 5983 in the Stamped Carriage House Long style with the Accents Woodtones Dark Oak finish. Against that white exterior and existing black hardware, the Dark Oak tone hits completely differently than you'd expect. It's warm, bold, and looks like real wood - but it's not, and that's actually the point.
That's the thing about a quality insulated garage door like this one. The steel-back construction with polystyrene insulation gives you durability and energy efficiency that a real wood door simply can't match without a ton of upkeep. No warping, no painting, no worrying about the NC humidity doing damage over time. You get the look without the headache.
A lot of homeowners don't realize how much visual weight the garage door carries on the front of a house. It's one of the largest surfaces you see from the street. When we do a residential garage door installation like this one, we're not just swapping hardware - we're reshaping the entire first impression of the home.
If your current door is dated or just blending into the background, it's worth thinking about what a new garage door installation could do for your curb appeal. The difference doesn't have to be subtle.
